“Our mouths were filled with laughter,
our tongues with songs of joy.
Then it was said among the nations,
“The Lord has done great things for them.”
The Lord has done great things for us,
and we are filled with joy.”
- A Psalm of Ascent in Psalm 126
Throwing the doors wide open of a space that has been nothing short of a miracle is a moment worth celebrating. Last night, we gathered as a community for the Grand Opening of our New Academic Building to thank God for his faithfulness, honor the generosity of our donors, and celebrate the new opportunities for our students. We cut the ribbon to the two floors of our designated middle school wing, and then our families had the opportunity to explore the 29,000 square foot space that will be used from this day forward to build the Kingdom and support students as they learn and grow in their faith.
The next morning our middle school students had their own ribbon cutting ceremony, and then started their day with a prayer walk around their new home, dedicating the space to the Lord. Our middle school students are so excited to learn in a new space that is their own.
Families also explored the lower level, which features three finished classrooms and the almost-finished Robotics & Engineering Lab where high school students will have the opportunity to utilize equipment ranging from CNC milling machines to water jets. Because we are still waiting on the storm shelter doors, the lower level will not open immediately. |
Two of our classrooms – a 4th grade classroom and our Spanish classroom – held class today with twice as much square footage because a dividing wall was knocked down, consolidating four classrooms into two. The New Academic Building allows us to remodel seven classrooms, two of which have already been completed.
This is a really exciting time at Legacy, and we are so thankful for each family that calls this place home. There is another important event where we can also gather as a whole community and celebrate what God is doing at Legacy, and that is our Legacy Gala. It is our desire for the entire Legacy community to experience this special evening of celebration, so join us for what promises to be an exciting and encouraging night. If you have not already done so, please register for this free event here by March 25.
